There
is no inherent separation between God and human beings
That
God is not in charge perhaps may be disappointing news to anybody
who has believed that salvation follows from "belief in God".
But here is the incredibly good news, far better than is usually
offered in the most familiar religions. The "Creator God over
there, creature over here" view, places a fundamentally insurmountable
barrier between Creator and creature, now and even after death.
(A few mystics talk about "Communion with God"; going beyond that
tends to be viewed as heresy inspired by the devil, and tends
to open one up to being hung on a cross, or burnt at a stake.)
But
if we are "beings" arising in the Consciousness of God, as part
of God, then there is no separation from
God in Reality, nor has there ever been any separation
from God, and our ultimate destiny may be far greater than is
suggested by such notions as "heaven", or "the Beatific Vision
of God", etc. If if we are "beings" arising in the Consciousness
of God, then in fact, there is only One Being, and our greatest
potential is to awaken from the dream of limited being as
that One Being.
